Savannah is a gorgeous and Spanish inspired destination city in south Georgia, and is absolutely perfect if you want to have a destination wedding! The Soho South Cafe is one of my favorite wedding venues there. It’s natural and industrial at the same time.
With a separate, more intimate bar area for cocktail hour and the reception, and an outdoor area, there are several different areas that separate the venue. It’s really beautiful for photos, and has lots of windows for light throughout the day. You will need an experienced photographer for the evening though, as it can get dark pretty quickly once the sun goes down. That’s where I come in. I’ve been photographing weddings for over 10 years.
The Soho House is located in the heart of downtown Savannah, too! So, it’s easy to get to and has plenty of parking too. There is tons of space outside for a tented ceremony or reception, which offers another look entirely if you want it. Sounds perfect to me!
You’re also really close to Forsyth Park, which is a great spot to swing by for your first look or for some gorgeous portraits together! Fountains, gardens, and moss draped oak trees… Its absolutely stunning. I personally think its as close to a European aesthetic as you can get while on the Southeastern Coast. The light also has a really bright and golden quality in Savannah, especially right before sunset (which is my suggested time for couple’s portraits)!
Now lets touch on one of my favorite things… FOOD. Something that is especially exciting about the Soho House is their food. Its classic southern food done right, with a flair of They offer in house catering, which is one less thing you have to think about! So, whether it is a six coursed chef’s tasting table prepared by their Executive Chef, Brandy Williamson or if its a more casual custom prepared buffet with passed hors d’oeuvres— you can count that its going to be tasty. And if you love food like I do, thats a huge plus!
If you’re looking for a natural, industrial, and versatile venue for your destination wedding make sure to contact the Soho South Cafe.
I really don’t think you could want more out of a wedding venue, this place pretty much is the whole enchilada. Am I right, or am I right?
