Today I’m thrilled to share with you what I think are the top 6 San Miguel de Allende wedding venues. Planning a destination wedding or elopement in Mexico is exciting! It can also so easily become a little scary. Because unless you plan on visiting in advance, you have to plan everything online and completely trust your vendors. This is especially true for a stunning town like San Miguel de Allende! There are so many gorgeous wedding venues in San Miguel de Allende Mexico that it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. After all, you want to find that gorgeous venue that you’ve always dreamed about. Right? Well I get it! That’s why I’ve created a curated list that shares some of my personal favorite wedding venues in San Miguel de Allende.
In order to be completely fair to these beautiful properties, I’ve decided to just share them with you alphabetically. I’ll break each one down briefly and provide a link to their website. Then you can check out each one for yourself, too.
Entonces… (Our spanish word of the day! Meaning: “so…” or “then”, while introducing a conclusion.)
I know that I said this list is alphabetical just to be fair to each venue, but I LOVE that we’re starting with the Casa Blanca 7 Hotel. Nestled in the Spanish Colonial Center of San Miguel de Allende, this exquisite boutique hotel is set in a historic residential space dating back over 3 centuries. Its super small, offering just ten guest rooms. And that’s actually perfect for a destination wedding getaway or elopement! The decor is inspired by moonlit evenings in Morocco, with flairs from Moorish Spain. So let’s imagine together: Berber carpets, stunning tiles, elegant inlaid furniture, and minimalist open spaces. Its basically Andalusia in Mexico!
An especially unique aspect to getting married at the beautiful Casa Chorro is that its so close to the heart of town, and just steps away from the Jardin. As a San Miguel de Allende wedding venue, gorgeous views of the town are to be expected. But this 7 bedroom colonial home has views beyond the town, spanning out over the countryside and the mountains as well! So, if you’re searching for a private residence for your San Miguel de Allende wedding or elopement, make sure to consider Casa Chorro as your one-stop venue and getaway. (P.S. Yes, there is a pool. Perfect if you’re trying to have a wild time at your reception, or want to take a dip before getting ready for the day)
This six person capacity venue is definitely best for an elopement ceremony followed by a dinner reception with your closest friends and family! Or a super small destination wedding. But just because its small doesn’t make it any less special than the other venues on our list. The goal behind their architectural and garden design was to maintain a high standard of Mexican craftsmanship. Therefore, the tequila tasting room is covered by 4000 tiles of obsidian rocks foraged from their agave fields. This further incorporates the locale and grounds into the very room in which you’ll be celebrating. It’s intimate, transportive, and completely curated for a sensory experience.
Gorgeously kept gardens, open horse pastures, an expansive glass sunroom, and a huge green garden trellis. Luna Escondida is a gorgeous and diverse complete venue for both indoor or outdoor weddings! My opinion? Get ready in one of their many beautiful guest houses, and have the ceremony in one of their Spanish-inspired gardens. Then step over to the garden trellis for cocktails and a stunning seated dinner at golden sunset hour. Finish the evening by dancing under the stars in their glass sunroom (complete with arching twinkle lights), and exit waterside with floating paper lanterns. (PS. This venue has plenty of room for a large destination wedding getaway!)
The largest of our boutique hotels, Tres Raíces has room for about 20 guests to stay, and plenty of room for up to 500 guests at your ceremony and reception. Of course, you don’t have to want a big wedding for Tres Raíces to be your dream venue! Especially if wine, tequila barrels, and a candlelight seated dinner surrounded by rustic, Spanish inspired architecture is your vibe. You’ll seriously love this San Miguel de Allende wedding venue. It even comes with a restored colonial-style chapel!
When I think about weddings at the Rosewood San Miguel de Allende, luxury is the first word that comes to mind. So, if you’re searching for an extravagant & elegant affair, the Rosewood absolutely needs to be on your short list. It’s best suited for large destination weddings, and has plenty of room and comfort for even the least seasoned of travelers. Heck, even if you don’t end up booking it for your venue, it’s the perfect suggestion for anyone traveling to your destination wedding.
I hope this list of my favorite San Miguel de Allende wedding venues has been helpful!
